Fall Texas Hog Hunts and Fishing
The Texas summer is finally coming to an end, the 100-degree days are a thing of the past and with it comes cooler temperatures. We have already had several cold fronts and have been experiencing some beautiful days. Hog hunting on the ranch is heating up, with more frequent hog activity happening all over. November through March are the best months to hunt for wild hogs in Texas. As the weather cools down, the cooler temperatures allow for the hogs to search for food for longer periods of time. Also, November through January is when the rutting period for wild hogs is at its peak as well. There has been increased hog activity all across the ranch and I have been seeing increased activity during the daylight hours. Some sows are already in heat and receptive, even have a few pics of mating pigs on game cameras. The boars activity will increase as they will be out searching for receptive females to breed with. This, in turn, gives hunters a greater opportunity to see and successfully harvest a wild hog. Then in-between hunts during the afternoon, take advantage of the great fishing opportunities (good quantities of bass, perch, 3 species of catfish, crappie and carp in Lake Cisco) to be had on our 3 miles of shoreline! Use kayaks to check out and fish more areas of the lake, or just enjoy the scenery while paddling around.
So, if you're interested in harvesting a wild hog and creating memories of a lifetime, come book a hunt with us! We will gladly help you get plenty of wild hog meat to fill your freezer with!
